Charis Charalambous (Summer 2008) was born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus. She received a BA in Psychology from Miami University (Ohio) and a MA in Counseling from Arcadia University (Pennsylvania). She is currently working as a Welfare Officer in the "Families and Children" sector of the Cyprus Social Welfare Services. She is also a volunteer counselor at the Strovolos Municipality Counseling Center, providing free therapy services to families, couples and children.
She has a special interest in the field of Family Therapy and attends numerous seminars in Cyprus and abroad as part of her continuing education. This is her second time in the USA as a Fulbright Scholarship recipient and her training takes place at Denver Family Therapy Center. She has also received scholarships from the European Union Socrates "Grundtvig" and "Comenius" programs for Adult Lifelong Learning.
In her free time, Charis likes to travel, play tennis, take photographs and attend various cultural events.

Jamsran Choijilsuren (Summer and Fall 2008) has been working at the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia since 2001. Currently, he is a Senior Specialist of the Petroleum Department, which is responsible for all petroleum activities in Mongolia. He has a degree in Petroleum Development Engineering from Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscowand attended Flow Measurement and English programs in India and the United States.
Jamsran is married and has one daughter. They like to go camping in the countryside and going to the movie theater. |

Mijiddorj Chuluunbaatar (Fall 2008) from Mongolia graduated in Geological Engineering from the Moscow State Geological
University in 2004. He has been working on different mineral deposits at Mongolyn Alt (MAK) Company as a
Senior Geologist. From
2005 to 2007 worked at Tsagaan Suvarga copper-molybdenum deposit and
recently on Shorvon Gol hard rock gold, Biluut polymetalic, and Devreh hard
rock gold deposits.
Mijiddorj is married and has a 2 year old son. He enjoys swimming and playing snooker and PC
games. |

Iriana Colina, a 2008 Global
Partners Program participant from Venezuela, has a Bachelors Degree in Modern Languages
with a focus on International Organizations from the
University of the Andes. She has experience teaching both English and Spanish.
Iriana's DIP training placement is with the Aftican Community Center.

Shakhzoda Djalalova (Fall 2008) from Uzbekistan has a bachelor's degree of major English philology from Uzbek State University of World Languages. She has been teaching English as a Second Language at the High School in Uzbekistan since 2006. She has also worked as a teacher's assistant and held English conversation circles while she was a student. She is interested in learning the system of teaching of English as a Second Language in the United States and in gaining teaching experience. Her training has been taking place at the Arapahoe Library District. She plans to teach Business English upon her return to Uzbekistan.
Shakhzoda is single and lives with her family. She has two sisters and one brother. She enjoys traveling and chose to start her foreign travels with a big country. This trip is her first time abroad. |

Dashzeveg Dorjzorod (Fall 2008) was born in Uburkhangai, Mongolia. He is the Vice President for Production and Exploration for one of the largest Mongolian mining companies, the Mongolyn Alt Kompany (MAK) where he has being working for 15 years. He has a BA in mining engineering from the Mongolian National University in 1976. He also has a Master’s degree in mining engineering (2001) and a MBA from the Mongolian Economic Institute (2005). He is a member of the Mongolian National Mining Association and the Mongolian National Coal Mining Association.
Dashzeveg has been married to Dejid for 32 years. They have 3 children. Uyanga is 31 and lives in Japan with her husband and son. She is studying to get a PhD in Law. Tumur is 25 years-old and lives in Mongolia. He is a geologist. Uyanga is 24 and works in Mongolia as a business manager.
Dashzeveg, or Dashaa as he likes to be called, enjoys hunting, fishing and raising horses. He reads biographies of great people such as Abraham Lincon, Ghengis Khan and Albert Einstein. |

Tsogt Galsan (Spring 2008) has been working at the MONGOLYN ALT (MAK) mining company in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, since 1996. Currently, he is Director of the Production and Technical Department, which is the main division for all of MAK’s activities. He has a degree in Mining Technology Engineering from the Mining University of Sverdlovsk in Russia and had attended English and business management programs in New Zealand and Egypt.
Tsogt is married and has three children. He and his family enjoy traveling in the countryside, watching movies, and playing snooker billiards.
After six weeks of intensive English instruction at Spring
Institute for Intercultural Learning, Tsogt's training placement will be with Colorado Schools of Mines. |

Vanessa Hammer (Fall 2008) has been a social worker at the Youth welfare Office in Osnabrueck, Germany since 2001. In addition she is certified on Prevention for Youth at risk and has training in Psychiatric Institutions and Female Safe Haven Centers. Vanessa has been to the United States as an au pair before. During her studies she did development aid as an intern in Nepal.
Her training placement is with the Denver Department of Human Services. She is especially interested in the youth welfare system of the United States.
Vanessa enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. |

Beran Kufi (Summer 2008), 2008 Cyprus Fulbright Commission’s Cyprus American Scholarship Program (CASP) participant from North Cyprus, is a chemist, with a BSc. degree from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey. She has been working in State Laboratory since 1996. She works in Environment and Radiobiology Department as a Chemist. She had attended courses in Ankara, Turkey, about analysis of nitrosamines in baby pacifiers and arilamine analysis in cloth dyes. She has an education certificate and worked as a chemistry and science teacher for 4 years in various high schools in North Cyprus.
She hopes to bring new applications to her department in North Cyprus and share her experiences with her colleagues. Her training placement is Denver Wastewater Management Division and UCLA’s Environmental Science and Engineering Department.
Beran is married and has two daughters. She enjoys traveling. |

Manlai Purevdorj (Summer and Fall 2008) has been working at the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, since 2006. Currently, he is a Mining Technological Specialist in the Mining Department, which in charge of mining activities in Mongolia. He has a bachelor's degree in Mining Technology Engineering from the Mining Engineering School of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia and had attended the Mining Project Evaluation, Mining software programs in Mongolia.
Manlai lives with his mother and 2 younger sisters. He likes spending time with his friends and his family and enjoys traveling in the countryside. |

Heike Woerner (Spring 2008) has a degree as a youth worker and had additional training in outdoor and wilderness education. Since 2001, she has been a youth worker at the Stadtteilbauernhof (city farm) in Stuttgart, Germany. There she works with the children aged 6 to 14 years who visit the farm during their leisure time to participate in activities such as gardening, cooking, attending workshops and campfires, playing games, and taking care of the animals.
Heike likes traveling (especially by motorbike), hiking, skiing, rock climbing and Irish dancing. She lives in a village near Stuttgart which is surrounded by vineyards.

Dora Zangoulou (Summer 2008) was born and raised in Paphos, Cyprus. For the past 12 years, she has been working as a Welfare Officer in the Cyprus Social Welfare Services. She has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Patra, Greece. She is a member of the Cyprus Association of Social Workers.
She was a member of the Scientific Committee of KENTHEA, a non-governmental organization that focuses on drug prevention and offers therapeutic programs in Cyprus. She has been trained by KENTHEA (in Cyprus and abroad) on several prevention skills and she works voluntarily with groups of teens, parents and teachers. She is also the coordinator of the "Social Workers in Drug Prevention" program. In 1993 she was a founding member of the Paphos Association Againsts Drugs that promotes prevention and healthy lifestyles in the community.
Dora believes in lifelong learning and has attended numerous seminars and conferences all over the world. She received a Fulbright Scholarship in 2002 and visited the USA (Kentucky) as a member of a bicommunal group of professionals. She also received a scholarship by the Embassy of Israel in 2004 and attended a seminar on "Crisis Intervention in the Community". Her current training takes place at Denver Family Therapy Center.
Dora is married and has two children, Rafaella (14) and Peter (11). In her free time, she enjoys travelling with her family and drawing/painting.

Lidwina Ebrahim (Fall 2007) is the head of the Fredo Day Care Centre in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. She hopes to learn new techniques for caring for and nurturing children between 2 and 6 years old. Her training placement will be with the Clayton Family Futures program at the Clayton Foundation. |

Matthias Hoekert is
a Spring 2007 participant from Zwolle, the Netherlands.
He received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management
from Christelijke Hogeschool Windesheim in January 2007.
Through his internship with DIP he hopes to gain experience
that will be useful for international business administration
and management of people from other countries. In the
future he would like to work for a company that has
international operations. |

Nico Kelly (Fall 2007) is the National Program Coordinator for the Foundation for Peace and Solidarity in Cameroon. He is interested in learning new skills, techniques and methods in management, administration, marketing and fundraising for non-profit organizations. His training placement will be with Catholic Charities of Denver. |

Dafne Linares Goenaga, a 2007 Global
Partners Program participant from Queretaro, Mexico, is interested in the potential of advertising and marketing for improving the economy in her country. Her training placement is with Heinrich Marketing where she hopes to get experience that will assist her in setting up an advertising agency in her hometown. |

Thomas Maille is a 2007 Global
Partners Program participant from
France. He has an Advanced Vocational Diploma in car maintenance and after-sales support from the Educational District of Bordeaux. His DIP training placement is with Heli-Support, Inc. in Fort Collins where he will be learning the technical and administrative aspects of operating a helicopter maintenance facility. |

David Mayen, a Winter/Spring
2007 and a
2007 Global
Partners Program participant from
Sudan, is a member
of the SPLM (Sudan Peoples' Liberation Movement) and
former member of the SPLA (Sudan Peoples' Liberation
Army). Fluent in Dinka, Arabic and English, David
received his secondary education in Khartoum, Sudan,
and earned a BA degree in Economics and Political Science
from Kampala International University in Uganda. His
training mentor for winter and spring 2007 was Representative Cheri
Jahn, Speaker Pro Tempore of the Colorado House of
Representatives. In June 2007 David will begin a one-year traineeship with the International Human Rights Advocacy Center at the University of Denver. |

Bertram Ramspeck is a
Spring 2007 participant from Apeldoorn, the Netherlands,
where he has lived his whole life. He has an undergraduate
degree in Computer Science from Windesheim, one of the
55 Universities of Professional Education in the Netherlands,
and is working on a master's degree in Information Technology
at Radboud University Nijmegen. His internship is with
DIP, where he will be working with Sue Koontz
to develop a new database. |

Hans Reinfelder (Fall 2007) from Kiefersfelden, Germany, is Deputy Director of the Bavarian Youth Welfare Office in Munich. He is especially interested in learning how the American youth welfare system coordinates with the legal system in cases of juvenile delinquency and child abuse. His training placement will be with the Denver Department of Human Services. |

Francisco Varas, a
2007/2008 Global
Partners Program participant from Santiago,
Chile, has a strong international background: he lived
the first half of his life in Canada and the other half
in Chile. Francisco holds a business degree from the
Universidad Diego Portales (Chile) and has worked for
two renowned multinational companies, L' Oreal and Reckitt
Benckiser. His DIP training placement with MicroBusiness
Development Corporation will
give him experience with marketing from a North American
non-profit perspective. |
